Alex, visiting his sister Belinda and her husband Fred, intends to stay for a while, much to Fred's dismay. Unemployed in New York, Alex sets his sights on a champagne salesman position and crashes a high-society party hosted by railroad tycoon J.D. Swinnerton and his wife. Alex's unconventional approach to getting an introduction leads to chaos, as several partygoers dress up as Robin Hood and a jewel thief is revealed.
