John Livingston, a wealthy mama's boy, owns a prized dog named Paul. Paul meets Maggie Mutt and seduces her, leading to the birth of a pup named Hank. Maggie leaves Hank, telling him to find his human, and Hank eventually finds Mary Kelly, a homeless woman, who takes him in. Later, Paul and John meet Mary and a child falls into a lake, prompting Paul and Hank to team up to save her. This leads to John and Mary falling in love, but John's mother objects to their marriage due to their lack of pedigree.
