Animated Stories from the Bible background

Animated Stories from the Bible

In a time of devastating famine, Elimelech and his wife Naomi left their Bethlehem farm behind, seeking a better life in Moab, where they initially thrived with the support of their sons, who eventually married Moabite women Orpah and Ruth.

A famine forces Elimelech and his family to flee Bethlehem for Moab, where they initially thrive. However, tragedy strikes when Elimelech and his sons die, leaving his wife Naomi and their Gentile daughters-in-law, Orpah and Ruth, widowed and alone. Naomi decides to return to Bethlehem, but not before Ruth vows to stay with her, declaring, "Where you go, I will go; your people shall be my people, and your God my God." In Bethlehem, Ruth finds employment in a field owned by Boaz, who becomes her protector and eventually her husband. Their union results in the birth of a son, Obed, who is destined to be the grandfather of King David, a great unifier of Israel.
