Anna, a Jewish woman with a Spanish mother and Greek father, returns to her family's Greek home to sell it after many friends and family members have passed away. Instead, the house and its contents come alive, bringing back memories of her past, including her parents and friend Max, who sheltered her from police during a Berlin protest. Anna changes her mind about selling, and when a wealthy American couple expresses interest, she increases the price and decides to keep the house. Along the way, she has a romantic fling with a local man and reconnects with a childhood friend, finding peace and solace in her memories.
