On Robben Island, Nelson Mandela inspired a man named Msizi Dube to take action for a free South Africa. After Dube's death, residents of Lamontville Township protested proposed rent increases, shouting "Asinamali" - We have no money. Ten years later, a group of inmates in a prison are tasked with creating a stage play for the governor and his associates. The seven inmates, who work hard during the day, use their free time at night to create the play as a way to escape their harsh reality.
