In the screen melodrama "Below the Line," Rin-Tin-Tin has an eventful career, from being owned by a villain to befriending young Donald Cass. The energetic hero is always busy, either saving himself or rescuing his master and the heroine. Rin-Tin-Tin's adventures include being tumbled out of a train car, rescuing himself from a river, and tracking down a murderer. He even kills the criminal. The film has several good scenes, but is overall an overdose of melodrama, with too much rain, dramatic titles, and unremarkable acting from the principals.
