A Southern farmer takes in a baby billy goat, Billy Boy, who has a voracious appetite and eats everything in sight. Despite the farmer's efforts to control him, Billy continues to devour his surroundings. After various attempts to get rid of him, the farmer launches Billy into space on a rocket bound for the moon, where he promptly eats the entire lunar surface, plunging the world into darkness.
