Whip Wilson arrives in town to stop a group of horse thieves, led by Sam Wellman, Lou Banks, and Jack Marlin, who plan to sell stolen horses to the Army with forged documents. Whip meets Alice Long, the acting sheriff, who is searching for her missing friend Jim Bannon's stolen horse herd. Alice helps Whip infiltrate the gang by posing as an outlaw, with the goal of rescuing Alice and capturing the thieves.
