A tragic accident leaves her alone and she becomes frustrated with herself, feeling the pressure to achieve perfection impossible without a guide. She becomes addicted to self-harm via carving knives, hiding her struggle from her stepmother Isabella. Despite her better judgment, Amara pushes herself too far, and her carving breaks. She turns to self-harm again, but eventually reveals the truth to Isabella, who offers support to help Amara overcome her addiction and turn her pain into a masterpiece.
