Sgt. Major John Frost returns home early from his deployment due to PTSD, only to find his family too busy to welcome him. His wife Jill and son Jimmy have adopted a dog, Charlie, which John isn't fond of. Jill's catering business is struggling, and she's overwhelmed with holiday parties, leading to a forgotten wedding. John finds solace with fellow vets at the Moose Lodge, where he meets Hank, a homeless Vietnam vet who suffers a heart attack. John rallies the community to build a new home for the vets and give them a warm Christmas Eve, finding his purpose in helping his fellow veterans start anew.
