Colonel Draza Mihailovich, the Chetniks' leader, orders his men to launch a guerrilla war against German and Italian forces, targeting their supply lines and communication networks. The Chetniks' attacks cause significant disruptions, immobilizing Axis troops and posing a constant threat to their occupation. In response, the invaders try to capture Mihailovich by targeting his family, including his wife and children. When the Chetniks' loyalists refuse to betray their leader, the Axis forces resort to more brutal measures against the town's residents, exploiting the presence of traitors among them.
