Cynthia Warren, a talented illustrator and poster artist, defies societal norms by rejecting the idea that women are destined for marriage and motherhood. She decides to explore her freedom in Paris, leaving behind a dull but stable relationship with Randolph Morgan. In Paris, she meets a charming Englishman, William Lawton, who turns out to be married. Despite her liberal views, Cynthia's limits are tested by Lawton's unwanted advances. She finds solace with a prince, who becomes her ally, but Lawton's persistence leads to a dramatic confrontation.
