In the final stages of World War II, a piano concert is held in a forest outside Davao City, Mindanao. A Filipino family, led by Military Commander Ricardo and his wife Julia, befriends a group of Japanese officers camped nearby. Their son Joselito, a Japanese speaker, facilitates communication. The family's daughters, Niña and Maria, are torn between repulsion and fascination with the officers. As they navigate the fine line between enmity and friendship, family values are tested.
