Captain Biff Brown, a tuna fisherman, loses his job after his boat is found with escape tools from Alcatraz, despite not being involved. He takes his friend Sanderson to his boarding house, where he introduces him to his sweetheart Madge Harris, and Sanderson falls in love with her. Meanwhile, a gang led by Red Mason, attempting to escape the country, bribes Brown's engineer, Venatti, and secretly boards the boat with Brown and Sanderson. As a storm approaches, the gang takes control of the vessel.
