A former cop, Porter, is trying to turn his life around after overcoming his addiction. His girlfriend, Sarah, is pregnant and they're struggling financially. To help make ends meet, Sarah signs a contract for a film with a somewhat explicit role. Porter accompanies her to the set, but when she leaves to get ready, he becomes uncomfortable and tries to relax with vodka. Another actor convinces him to try cocaine, and he soon becomes out of control. He's attacked and knocked out, only to wake up along a railroad track with no memory of what happened. Desperate to find Sarah, Porter stumbles into the neighborhood, eventually getting picked up by police detectives who take him in for questioning. With no evidence to back up his story, they send him to a homeless shelter.
