Distortion background

Distortion

In a world torn apart by conflict, a theatre director's creative block is mirrored by the turmoil around him. His partner's documentary about a former Israeli agent inspires a thought-provoking journey into identity, morality, and humanity.

In the midst of Israel's tumultuous "Intifada", a theatre director struggles to create a new play, while his partner is working on a documentary about a former soldier who's fallen on hard times. The soldier's life has unraveled, with his wife leaving and his son fleeing to Australia. Desperate for inspiration, the director hires a private detective to follow his wife, unaware that the detective is inadvertently taking over the play's writing process, crafting a script that mirrors the director's own life.
