An elderly woman, Budhi, is struggling to make ends meet in a debt-ridden village where her young son took his own life due to financial burdens. She receives 1000 rupee notes from a politician, which changes her daily routine of spending 10 rupees. Despite her initial excitement, Budhi and her friend Sudama face challenges while trying to exchange the notes for change, eventually finding a shop owner who agrees to accept the note in exchange for a sari. However, the shop owner is then arrested for allegedly using a fake note.
