Erik Shahryar, a former carnival sideshow attraction, lives a lonely life beneath the streets of Paris, known to locals as "The Monster" or "Opera Ghost". Despite his physical deformities, he's a talented architect and musician who has made the Opera Garnier his kingdom. When he discovers Christine Daae's voice, he becomes obsessed with her and begins mentoring her, posing as the legendary "Angel of Music". As his infatuation grows, he's determined to make her his bride, and will stop at nothing to eliminate anyone who gets in his way.
