A charismatic con artist, accompanied by his wife, has perfected the art of swindling, but their latest scheme appears foolproof. Disguising himself as a preacher, he sets out to create a TV show and build a church, all while using his oratory skills to manipulate his followers. However, as the church grows, so does the temptation of lust and greed, threatening to destroy his entire operation.
