Johnny Popp, a Vietnam Veteran from Michigan, spirals into addiction after his wife's death in a car accident. He's introduced to crack/cocaine and struggles to survive on the streets of "Skid Row". After a brutal beating, Johnny turns his life around and meets Lorraine, a formerly homeless woman, in a nursing home. Despite their troubled pasts, they find love and support each other in rehabilitating and rebuilding their lives.
