Zaradasht Ahmed, the director, becomes a character in the film, guiding us through his world. A refugee from the First Gulf War, he fled Iraq after graduating from the Kirkuk Institute of Technology and spent five years on the run before settling in Norway in 1995. Now in his 40s, he feels unfulfilled and yearns for something more, which he finds in the form of a person who reminds him of his youthful dreams, located in the distant Fata Morgana beyond Gibraltar.
