Barbara Latham, daughter of Henry Latham, temporarily runs a small flying school, sparking her father's interest in resuming his flying career after World War One. Mayor Colton, also a former WWI flyer, makes a bet with Latham to see who can make the first solo flight. When Latham wins, Colton uses his mayoral power to have Latham arrested and fined.
