Al Howard, a struggling Broadway star, is blacklisted by producers due to his frequent absences in Mexico, causing shows to close and financial losses. His sister Molly tries to revive his career by pairing him with talented singer Dorothy for a Chicago club date. After the success, Al aims to open his own club on Broadway, securing funding from a gangster and using Dorothy, the gangster's girlfriend Luana, and the borrowed money to fuel his ambitions. However, Luana has her eyes on Al, making it a delicate balancing act to keep everyone happy.
