A young boy with a speech impediment finds an unlikely friend in an adult with a childlike spirit, and together they embark on a journey of self-discovery and overcoming shyness.

A 9-year-old boy named Verlin is non-verbal and appears to be deaf. A childlike adult named Henry befriends Verlin and helps him open up. However, Verlin's mother is wary of Henry, fearing he's a threat. Despite her reservations, Henry's family ultimately decides he should be institutionalized. When Henry suddenly vanishes, Verlin becomes even more withdrawn.
