Brilliant hacker Mike Cleary and his team have debugged Guardian, a program designed to block government cyber snooping, and are celebrating with a paintball game in the wilderness. However, their fun is disrupted by a militia-style survivalist and soon they're being hunted with high-tech weapons. As the body count rises, Cleary discovers he's at the center of a global conspiracy to control the program, and must use his programming skills and form an unlikely alliance to survive and prevent the program from falling into the wrong hands.
