Greg Dickson, a man raised in the Philippines, returns after 14 years in the United States to sell his father's estate and go back home. However, he is met with warnings from his boyhood friends, Bart and Cindy Rogers, about the marauding Huks, a group of fanatic guerrillas who are terrorizing the area. Despite their warnings, Greg is met with a Huk attack on the way to the plantation, but he is rescued by Stephen Rogers, the village schoolteacher, and Major Balatbat, a Philippine Army officer. They inform Greg that Kalak, the leader of the Huks and the man who murdered his father, is also after him.
