11-year-old Urban has been running away from care since he was 5, living in 6 care homes and 8 foster homes in 6 years. He sleeps rough on the streets or in a shed with other runaways when he can't find his mentally-ill addict mum, Greta. Urban's life changes when Greta meets Chop, a decent bloke who helps the family and gives Urban a chance to feel hope for the first time. However, their happiness is short-lived as Greta's self-destructive tendencies ultimately lead to a devastating outcome.
