I Go Back Home: Jimmy Scott background

I Go Back Home: Jimmy Scott

A grief-stricken German composer embarks on a perilous musical odyssey to create a jazz album for ailing jazz legend Jimmy Scott, risking everything in a quest for meaning.

Jimmy Scott, a jazz legend and friend of Billie Holiday and Charlie Parker, is paired with disillusioned German producer Ralf Kemper in an unlikely collaboration. Despite being 85 and living in obscurity, Jimmy's health is deteriorating and he's reliant on his wife and wheelchair. Ralf sacrifices everything to bring attention to his hero, gathering top jazz musicians including Quincy Jones, Joe Pesci, and James Moody. Together, they work to create a perfect album, racing against Jimmy's declining health and Ralf's dwindling bank balance.
