Two friends, Buzz and Axel, take on the responsibility of raising a 12-year-old girl, Pat, after her father's sudden death. They face rejection from the girl's wealthy relatives and instead seek help from her great-uncle, a struggling vaudevillian, and his wife. However, their plans are derailed when Axel uses the family's money to invest in a failing Swedish restaurant, leading Buzz to come up with a creative solution to save the business.
