A young Italian man flees his hometown for Milan, only to find himself ensnared in the ruthless arena of corporate finance, as he wrestles to preserve his identity amidst the crushing pressure to conform.

Two Italian youths, Domenico and Antonietta, secure jobs at a big city corporation after a unique screening process. Domenico eventually becomes a clerk, working alongside 12 others in a small, windowless room.
