Theater manager James Guthrie's career is threatened when opera star Elsa Terry backs out of a contract to perform in his Buenos Aires opera house, opting for a more lucrative deal in Paris instead. In a last-ditch effort to win her back, James lavishes Elsa with flowers and sweets.
