In 1982 Beirut, 12-year-old Lina's life revolves around her 18-year-old aunt's Syrian maid, Siam. Lina decides to take care of Siam, helping with romantic trysts and defending her interests, but remains invisible to Siam and her own family, including her reckless and gambling-addicted father. Amidst war, passion, and frustration, Lina tries to connect with the adult world, but remains untamed.
