Two teenage brothers, Reggie (14) and Don (17),are left alone in their mother's house after her passing. Reggie starts to experience strange occurrences, including hearing noises, seeing dead insects and people, and finding a mysterious crust-like substance. He tries to talk to his brother, but Don is preoccupied with his girlfriend and impending adulthood. As Reggie's friend Angus spends the night, they discover a terrifying presence in their mother's bedroom, threatening to take them and Angus away. The brothers must work together to save themselves and their friend from the deadly insect.
