In the midst of a brutal civil war in an unnamed African country, a group of boy soldiers, led by the 15-year-old Johnny Mad Dog, wreak havoc on the countryside. With a motto of "Don't want to die? Don't be born", they engage in acts of violence, destruction, and terror as they march towards the capital. Meanwhile, a young girl named Laokole struggles to keep her family together, including her disabled father and brother, amidst the chaos. As the war has been raging since Johnny was 10, it's unclear if he has any humanity left or if there's more to him than his brutal exterior.
