A young American man, Marvin, finds himself alone in a large Parisian apartment after his French journalist boyfriend, Julian, is called away to Nigeria. Marvin must rely on his flatmate, Khalid, a struggling university student from Algeria, who doesn't speak English, to navigate the city. They use a mix of languages, including Arabic, English, and French, as well as text messages, illustrations, and gestures to communicate.
