The 2004 album Romances was a collaborative effort between Norwegian composer John Erik Kaada and Mike Patton, resulting from Patton's discovery of Kaada's music during a trip to Europe. Kaada's debut album "Thank You For Giving Me Your Valuable Time" was released by Ipecac in 2003 and was named one of the top 10 releases of the year by Billboard's Norwegian edition. As an active film composer in Scandinavia, Kaada has won numerous awards for his innovative scores.
