Nathaniel Wingate's experiment in his basement laboratory opens a portal to another dimension, causing chaos in his family's life. His wife Nancy wants him to prepare for his birthday party, but Nathan is more interested in exploring the new dimension with his son Sam. However, things take a turn when Nathan is sucked into the other dimension, and a creature from the parallel universe escapes, taking the form of his cousin Desmon, a count from Liechtenstein. The creature, known as a Chameleon, begins to mimic Desmon's thoughts and actions, causing trouble for the Wingate family. Sam's sister Linda is obsessed with her phone and struggles to spell the words "Desmon" and "Chameleon". As the Chameleon continues to wreak havoc, the family must find a way to return it to its own dimension before it's too late.
