A fashion executive's seemingly perfect life is turned upside down as she struggles with self-doubt and insecurities, leading her to seek help to overcome her inner turmoil.

Mycroft, Lady in the Dark is a musical with music by Kurt Weill and lyrics by Ira Gershwin, produced by Sam Harris. The story follows Liza Elliott, an unhappy fashion magazine editor, as she undergoes psychoanalysis. The musical was performed on Broadway in 1941, in the UK in 1981, and was adapted into a 1944 film and 1954 TV special. Ann Sothern and Carleton Carpenter starred in the 1954 TV special, which was part of the Max Liebman Presents series. The musical's theme of psychoanalysis is based on author Moss Hart's experiences with psychoanalyst Gregory Zilboorg. The play features three dream sequences, which become small operettas, and the song "My Ship" serves as a leitmotif for Liza's insecurity.
