A decorated war hero, Chet Costa, embarks on a perilous mission to blow up a bridge at the Vietnamese border, tasked with closing the Vietcong's communication line after his Vietnamese girlfriend goes missing. With a group of prisoners, he sets out by helicopter, but it's shot down, forcing them to trek through the wilderness. As his soldiers realize they're on a suicide mission, they turn against their sergeant and flee to Bangkok.
