London Rock background

London Rock

London's 1970 counterculture scene comes alive through captivating live performances by iconic artists, including Rod Stewart and the Faces, Linda Lewis, and Fairport Convention.

Rock groups Fairport Convention and Rod Stewart's Faces share a connection with Druids and Stonehenge through their return to English paganism in popular music, inspired by native rituals and folk ballads. This blend of London sophistication and rural traditions, electronic wizardry and Druid rites resulted in a unique sound. The film features interviews and performances from notable bands, including The Faces, Jethro Tull, Marc Bolan and Fairport Convention, as well as rare footage of the 1969 rock-accompanied Solstice ceremony at Stonehenge.
