A transcontinental flight is disrupted by unfavorable weather conditions, leading to a grounded plane in Los Angeles. The pilot, Neil Bradshaw, is pressured by a movie star, Diane Andre, to take off for New York despite the storm. As the plane is reported lost, Neil is forced to land on a mountain. There, Diane offers him a leading role in her new film, causing him to reconsider his goal of flying solo around the world. Meanwhile, the flight hostess, Joan Lawson, decides to pursue her own flying ambitions.
