Much Ado in Mostar background

Much Ado in Mostar

The city of Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina, is torn apart by a deep-seated divide, with its eastern and western halves serving as a stark reminder of the country's entrenched ethnic and religious tensions.

The war-torn city of Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina, is divided ethnically and religiously, with Muslims on one side and Catholics on the other. Despite being a vibrant town with modern and historical architecture, the residents are fearful of another war. A group of kids from both sides come together, led by a Dartmouth College professor, to perform Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, putting their differences aside. The film follows their journey from rehearsal to a tour of performances in Croatia, Montenegro, Republika Srpska, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
