In the midst of the 2011 Syrian revolution, a 25-year-old woman named Nahla faces a difficult decision. She's torn between pursuing freedom and leaving the country through an arranged marriage with a man in the US, but her plans are derailed when her fiancé chooses her younger sister instead. Nahla finds herself drawn to her new neighbor, a mysterious woman named Mrs. Jiji who has opened a brothel in their building.
