Patterson and his best friend, a giraffe named Raf, have been inseparable since birth. Living next to a zoo, Patterson's world is filled with animals, including Raf. On their first day of school, Patterson is determined to make sure Raf has a great day too, packing his backpack with plants for his friend to snack on. But when he realizes Raf won't be joining him, Patterson is heartbroken. As he settles into school, he makes a new friend, Yous, and starts to enjoy his new routine. However, Raf feels left out and Patterson must come up with a creative solution to bring his two friends together.
