Ontic Antics Starring Laurel and Hardy; Bye, Molly!

The innovative film-projection device was first designed to briefly display the electrifying live acts of Nervous System.

Ken Jacobs' ONTIC ANTICS is a permanent piece of the Nervous System series, made possible after completing STAR SPANGLED TO DEATH. The film takes inspiration from the 1929 Laurel and Hardy short BERTH MARKS, which was filmed twice, with and without sound. ONTIC ANTICS features a 3-D coda, achieved through digital means, and also includes a foot-stool that transforms into a live puppy, created through rapid juxtaposition of opposing frames, just like in the live performance.
