Monte Hale, a newcomer to western films, teams up with Danny McCoy and his sister Gloria to get his singing-cowboy career off the ground. With the help of a talented horse named "Pardner", Monte lands a role and the horse gets a part, but their success is threatened by a jealous western star who orchestrates an explosion. After a confrontation and some horse-handling heroics, "Pardner" recovers and shines in the film, even outshone by a tap-dancing horse named "Trigger" and a few cameos from famous western stars.
