Millions of people worldwide protested poverty and violence against women during the historic World March of Women from March to October 2000. The Québec Federation of Women initiated the march, which marked a turning point in global solidarity. Director Sophie Bissonnette invited filmmakers from around the world to document the march and create innovative projects. The films showcased women's empowerment through education, circus, informal courts, leadership training, and welfare support. The march culminated at the UN, where women presented 5 million signed cards to change the world.
