Jesse, a troubled young man from Los Angeles, and his friend Will, find themselves stranded in small-town Nebraska after their car is stolen. Their journey has a connection to Jesse's father, who lives in the town. They work for Hank, a handyman, in exchange for his car and are taken in by Sharon, a kind bartender.
