Italian chemist and author Primo Levi's book IF THIS IS A MAN was adapted into a one-man play in September 2004. Levi was imprisoned in Auschwitz in 1944 after being discovered to be Jewish and spent 10 months in barbaric conditions, later writing about his experiences in IF THIS IS A MAN. The play, featuring actor Antony Sher, brings Levi's words to life, showcasing Sher's ability to portray human despair with ease.
