Travel blogger Cara Durant publishes her novel about female empowerment, but her editor demands she add romance to the lead character. Cara returns to her hometown to buy her dream riverfront house, only to find a construction crew building a hydroelectric dam next door. She meets Riley Evans, the lead engineer, and instead of protesting, she decides to outline the dam's negative impact on the town and find a better location. As they work together, a romance develops, which Cara uses as inspiration for her novel.
